Doctor GABS, a master of Swing and Boogie Woogie, is a pianist of international standard. Many specialists
and jazz aficionados consider him as the spiritual son of the legendary Erroll Garner. In fact, one of Gabs'
recordings in Paris is dedicated to him. Gabs' playing reveals the best in Jazz, from its origins to today.
His music is direct and filled with warmth, joy, tenderness, lyricism and virtuosity. He considers his piano
playing as a "remedy" against lack of communication between human beings. From this philosophy comes the nickname
"Doctor". His amazing mastering of the keyboards has raised him among the elite of today's jazz piano players.
In 1991, he founded the "Doctor Gabs Quartet". He currently performs solo, or with his band, all over the world.
Since 1997, he gives every year an "American Jazz Evening" at the Palais des Beaux-Arts of Brussels. This concert
is each time succesfull, because there is a demand from many people for this kind of jazz (Erroll Garner, Duke
Ellington, Oscar Peterson, Cole Porter, Fats Waller, Thelonious Monk...) and the good doctor is simply one of the
best contemporary jazz pianists to provide that.
